PERSONAL:

This is Coach Brunner's 8th year teaching Health and Physical Education at Lassiter High School. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Criminology. Later she earned her Master’s degree in Special Education from Valdosta State University in 2010. Prior to teaching at Lassiter, Coach Brunner worked for the National Crimes Research and Treatment Center in Charleston, SC as a research assistant.  She began her career teaching at Centennial High School, where she worked in a small classroom environment with students who had emotional and behavioral disorders.  She then took a job as a special education teacher and began team teaching Health.  She fell in love with Health and pursued a career teaching Health Education.

Coach Brunner is married to Daniel Brunner, who also teaches in Cobb County and coaches’ varsity football.  They met in Charleston, SC through mutual friends and settled in Roswell, GA. They have two beautiful children, Daniel Jr. and Charlie Grace and two playful Boxers named Champ and Blitz.

In addition to teaching Health, Coach Brunner also coaches lacrosse and the special needs cheerleading squad “Lassiter Spirit” and she teaches adaptive physical education.  She also is a Sources of Strength trusted adult and leader of the Trojan Advisory Council that helps to educate students on the dangers of prescription and nonprescription drugs.
